Q. How do I make a recommendation?
A. Making a recommendation is easy. Simply click the MAKE RECOMMENDATION button at the top of this page and follow the directions on each page.

Q. Can I recommend as many co-workers as I want?
A. Yes, we encourage everyone to recognize all the great work they see. We do suggest, however, that everyone be thoughtful in their recommendations, focusing on their top three or so choices as a way of making sure they really count.

Q. Will the person I recommend know that I have recommended them?
A. That is really up to you and we encourage you to let the person you've recommended know you've done so. They will not be formally notified of your recommendation through the process itself.

Q. I can't find the person I want to recommend when I search for them. What do I do?
A. If you are having trouble finding the person you want to recommend, try searching with the first letter of their first and last name only. If they still don't show up in the list, don't worry! Simply enter their first and last name and select the state they work in from the drop down menu provided. If you know their job title, please manually enter that as well.

Macy's Make Magic Awards Program Details

The MAKE MAGIC "Six" Awards are part of the first ever company-wide recognition program. These seasonal and annual awards are the cornerstone of the MAKE MAGIC recognition program rolled out earlier this Spring, celebrating above and beyond achievements around the six key behaviors that drive results that drive success at Macy's.

So…what happens now? The MAKE MAGIC "Six" Awards are a four-phase process.

Phase 1 – Recommendations
Recommendations are our way of soliciting participation and driving engagement throughout our entire employee population. It encourages everyone to give a "shout out" to a co-worker (an individual or a team) whom they think deserves recognition for performance that’s above and beyond the ordinary.

Phase 2 – Nominations
Formal nominations will be submitted to selection committees by department and facility heads across the company. These formal nominations are inspired by the recommendations that Macy’s employees write during the first phase of the process. This is the opportunity for each department to celebrate the great work that happens every day.

Phase 3 – Selections
During this phase, selection committees will be reviewing all of the nominations that have been submitted for their business unit and making award decisions. They will be determining winners in the MAKE MAGIC "Six" Award categories.

Phase 4 – Announcements
The announcement phase is really what it's all about. This is the time when winners will be announced and celebrated across the country. Get ready to CELEBRATE!
